Virginia (Corey) Lee
of Harvard; formerly of Lowell; 88

HARVARD -- Virginia (Corey) Lee, 88, Massachusetts Avenue, died Tuesday May 27, 2014, at her residence.

Her husband, John W. Lee, died May 24, 1999.

Mrs. Lee was born in Lowell, January 29, 1926, the daughter of John and Delphine (Lee) Corey and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Virginia was married to John W. Lee May 27, 1950. Mrs. Lee resided in Harvard for over 60 years.

She worked many years in the office at the Harvard Elementary School. Previously, she had worked at the New England Telephone Company as an operator. She also worked as a volunteer at Fruitlands Museum in Harvard and at the Deaconess Nashoba Hospital in Ayer.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, John W. Lee, Jr. and Susan Lee, Thomas H. Lee and Lisa Stanley, James F. and Karen Lee, Michael J. and Lucille Lee all of Harvard; three daughters, Virginia L. Hall of Washington, Carol A. Shores and her husband, Carleton, of Duxbury, Jane A. Gould and her husband, Larry Kershaw, of Worcester; a sister, Shirley Dunfey of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; a sister-in-law Barbara Reidy of Worcester; fifteen grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother, Jack Corey of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mrs. Lee was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Theresa's Church, a member of the Women's Club, the Harvard Garden Club, and the Bridge Club. Virginia was an avid gardener and quilter.

LEE -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Friday, May 30th at Holy Trinity Parish worshiping at St. Theresa's Church, 15 Still River Road, Harvard.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster.
