Helen D. Lorden of Pepperell; formerly of Townsend -- PEPPERELL -- Helen D. Lorden, of Pepperell died June 30, 2013 at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. She was born in Townsend February 4, 1923 daughter of the late Frederick C. and Florence (Warden) Koch and was the wife of the late William S. Lorden Sr. who died in 2002. -- Mrs. Lorden spent her early life in Townsend where she attended school and was a graduate of Spaulding Memorial High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and was dedicated to her family. She and her late husband established and operated Lorden Hardware in Pepperell for many years and which is now being operated by the 3rd generation of the Lorden Family. Besides being involved in the operation of the store she also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She is survived by her children Bonnie Kimball and her husband Lewis of Pepperell, Dorothy Greeke and her partner Gerald Tebo of Townsend, William S. Lorden Jr. and his wife Karen of Ashburnham, Louann Lorden and partner Craig Whitney of Townsend, Katheen Clark and her husband George of Pepperell, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and was predeceased by 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
