BODDY, John (Jack)
1927-2012
John Boddy passed away peacefully on September 15th, 2012. John, married to
Marie (nee McClintock) for 59 years, died
with his bride by his side. Predeceased by his son Robert, "Dad" will be fondly remembered by Edward, Tammy, Lori and James,
as well as Daughters-in-law, Jill and Christine; Sons-in-law, Peter and John. "Poppa" will be sadly missed by Cynthia and Brett Washbrook; Cheryl and Blake Boddy; Brook and Brendan Boddy; Sveta, Anna, and Anya Warren; Kasi and Jake McAuley. His Great-Granddaughter, Brynn Washbrook, has added much joy to the family. John leaves a legacy of service to our great city and province. He distinguished himself as the President/CEO of the award- winning John Boddy Homes and visionary founder of Muskoka Woods Youth Resort. He will be greatly missed by loyal staff and thousands of young people who were
inspired by his life and generosity. Marie, and all the family, would like to extend
a special thanks to Veneta, Elizabeth and Natalie who cared so compassionately for Poppa during his later years. Mr. Boddy's funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Community Church, 390 Bamburgh Circle, Scarborough, ON, on Friday September 21st, at 2:00 pm. Prior to the service, visitation will take place at the church from 1:00 pm. Donations, in lieu of flowers may be made to the Muskoka Woods Youth Foundation.
