GENTLES, Margaret Jane
June 21, 1912 - April 10, 2014
Loving wife of John (predeceased). Beloved mother of Ian and William. Dear grandmother of Stephen, Peter, Melanie and Naomi; loving great-grandmother of Rowan, Andrew, Elizabeth, Catherine, Abigail, Noah, Mahalia, Jemima and Leo. Born in Bolton, England, Margaret earned her BA in classics at the University of Manchester, and then emigrated to Jamaica where she taught at St. Hilda's College. In 1943, she immigrated with her family to Canada, later training as a librarian and finishing her career as the Head of Deer Park Library. As a generous legacy for her whole family, in 1964 she built a cottage on Chandos Lake. A strong Christian, she did much volunteer work, and was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Church. Arrangements entrusted to A. ROY MILLER FUNERAL HOME. Funeral and Memorial Service to be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 611 St. Clair Avenue. W, Toronto M6C 1A3. Flowers or donations may be sent to St. Michael and All Angels Church. "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you." (Philippians 1:3)
