PASTERNACK, Sam
Past National Commander, Jewish War Veterans of Canada, distinguished and decorated WW2 RCAF veteran, community leader and activist, passionate supporter of Israel and respected and principled businessman. On December 10, 2012 at the age of 88 years young, with his children holding his hand and his sister by his side, Sam passed away at Humber River Hospital. Supremely devoted husband of the late Rhoda, loving father and guiding light of Melissa and Murray Berall and Michael and Lisa Pasternack. Energetic and vibrant grandfather of Cole, Kaia, Carson, Daniel, David, Dylan and Jacob. Beloved brother of Pat Weinstein and Ralph Edery and the late Janet and Marshall Korn. Funeral to be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (three lights west of Dufferin) at 1:00 p.m. Interment Beth Radom Synagogue section at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park. Melissa and Michael would like to thank Dr. Andrew Klug who went far above the call of duty, or the call of family, to help our dad. And as always, our amazing Murray, who sat up night after night at dad's bedside, working tirelessly to keep dad here with us.
