MARTIN, Victor L.
1932 - 2012
Victor passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care unit at Sunnybrook hospital on October 13, 2012 after a long, productive, and contented life. Victor was a kind, loyal, intelligent, hard-working and courteous man. He was a real character - a very unique individual with an enormous enthusiasm for life and work, whose positive outlook and fun- loving manner always brought a smile and laughter to those who knew him. Victor grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan, where he tamed horses, and farmed livestock and crops. He moved briefly to Winnipeg, where he graduated from Success College, and then to Toronto, where he married Louisa and set up his successful accounting and real estate practices. His other interests were music (especially guitar), gardening, and his Masonic chapter. Until August of this year, Victor serviced friends and clients at his long- standing Yonge Street premises, after which he was taken quickly by gastric cancer. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Louisa, daughter Louisa, son Paul, grandchildren Aleigh, Sara, and Jesse, niece Lorraine and brother-in-law Sam, sister Doreen, brother Ed, Jonty and Shar, and many other relatives and friends. Life will be much less interesting without him. Friends and family are welcome to attend any or all of the following: Visitation on Thursday, October 18, 7-9 pm at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave West, Funeral service on Friday, October 19, 2:30 p.m. in the Morley Bedford Funeral Home Chapel with visitation the hour prior. Burial at Mt Pleasant Cemetery to follow. Friends are welcome to return to the funeral home for a reception with refreshments. Tuesday, October 23: memorial gathering at The Capitol Theatre, 2492 Yonge Street, 2-5 p.m. If desired, donations in Victor's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
