GILKS, Joseph Edward
March 25, 1930 – March 27, 2014
Passed away peacefully with his beloved Diane by his side. Joe's accomplishments are known by those who knew and loved him and his loss is deeply mourned by his many friends and family. Born and educated in England, Joe served as a pilot with the RAF for 5 years including the Berlin Airlift and was respected as an officer and a gentleman. Joe arrived in Canada in 1960 and enjoyed a successful business career. He was a sports enthusiast whose passion was sailing. Joe was a special man who lived life to the fullest and taught us all the power of a positive attitude. When we think of him and remember his spirit and personality, it always brings a smile. The Bodi family will receive friends at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, Etobicoke on Sunday, March 30, 2014, from 2 p.m. until the time of the Service in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice for the good work they do.
