I miss my buddy Jim every day. His phone calls were always a blast, our visits were awesome, where ever they would be. His generous nature was awesome to witness. Everyone that ever was in contact with Jim, loved him. I miss my friend.

Dear Shaw Family
I was fortunate enough to work for the company during the time Jim was CEO and can honestly say I have so much respect for him and what he accomplished. He was the type of leader that would walk through the call centre and thank employees for their support. To work for a leader that was approachable and sincerely cared about the employees is something I have never heard or experienced since. I was with the company over 17 years because he inspired me and I wanted to be part of his vision. I'm grateful for having the opportunity to have worked for a great leader. Thank you Jim.

To all the Shaw family: We were so sadden to hear of Jim's passing. Our time in Calgary are some of our fondest memories and much surrounded my time working for Shaw Communications. Jim was always so incredibly gracious with his time, advice, and overall support. He was a passionate leader and it was a pleasure working on his leadership team. He taught us all so much over the years. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you navigate through this very difficult time. Our deepest condolences.

Jim came into our lives like the lion king he always reminded me of. His sense of humour twinkled in his eyes. His generosity, not just of his money but of his time, his kindness, his love and ebullient spirit were boundless and will never be forgotten. He gave me the trip of a lifetime and it gave me the opportunity to get to know him better. I am so grateful we all got to celebrate his 60th together. He never got tired of telling stories, sharing his knowledge or of telling me just how blessed he felt to have had Kathryn come into his life (and, by extension, the rest of our crazy clan).
Jim and my dad shared so much in common (except their one big bone of contention as dad was a lifelong Bears fan) that I take comfort in believing they are together, watching football and saying just wait until next season.
I keep hearing his voice in my head....Bob's yer uncle.

Dear Shaw family, we were very saddened to hear of Jim's passing. So young and way to early to have been taken away from you all. We hope and pray you will feel the comfort and peace you feel from all around and that find strength from above. Our prayers are for you all. Sincerely Ena and Hoss Hammer

So saddened by the news of Jim's passing.
Today is difficult to see beyond the sorrow, you have to look back in your memories to help comfort you tomorrow and in the days ahead.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, loves leaves a memory no one can steal.
I will always remember the fun days at the Shaw Farm, calving times, halter breaking and
show time. I recall the day at Farm 5 when Jim came with his tree spade and took a spruce tree to a new home. Its been a blessing to be able to say that I knew Jim and to have witnessed the successful path he carved.
With my deepest sympathy for you in the loss of Jim, praying that in your sorrow, you will also find peace, comfort and healing to your heart.
With blessings love and prayers.

Jim Shaw's generousity to Shawnigan is a lasting legacy. He was instrumental in moving Shawnigan to the next level. As an alumni of Shawnigan I can't thank Jim and his family enough for his contributions. I had an opportunity to meet he and his wife at a number of Shawnigan events / I am proud I was able to express my gratitude to him directly
