Elizabeth "Betty" Olson, 96, of Indianapolis, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Westminster Village North in Indianapolis.
  She was born April 29, 1917 in Lucerne, Indiana to the late Everett and Grace (Kramer) Gragg. Grace passed away when Betty was 3, her father remarried to Marie Montgomery who helped raise Betty as her own daughter.
  Betty graduated from Lucerne High School, and went on to earn her BS & MS from Indiana University with distinction. She worked hard and went to school in the evening and through the summer to earn her degrees.
  Her marriage was to Wilbur "Ole" Olson on June 27, 1942 at Fletchers Lake in Fulton County, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1997.
  Throughout her life, Betty lived in Kentland, Monticello, Sebring, Florida and later Indianapolis.
  Betty taught elementary school for 24 years, and ended her career at Woodlawn Elementary in Monticello teaching 1st grade.
  She enjoyed sewing, reading, keeping house and most importantly, being a mom and grandmother. Her best advice was "whatever you do, do your best."
  Surviving are two sons; Kent Olson (Rebecca) and Eric Olson (Marti), seven grandchildren; Danielle Olson Kempf (Steve), Mark Olson, Lars Olson (Lauren), Nels Olson (Sarah), Anna Olson, Kristin Olson and Kelsey Olson and seven great-grandchildren; Simon Kempf, Molly Kempf, Amelia Kempf, Lars Olson II, Finn Olson, Jacob Olson, and Isabel Olson. 
She was preceded in death by a son; Brian Olson and a brother; William Gragg.
