James Stanner Obituary

James Wendell Stanner OCEANSIDE -- James Wendell Stanner was an attorney by trade, an avid Charger fan by choice. He was born to Chet and Margaret Stanner on September 3, 1938 in Howe, Indiana. He graduated from Western Michigan University in 1960, with degrees in Spanish and Education and later a Masters Degree from USD. After several years as a beloved Spanish teacher at a El Cajon Valley High School, James earned his law degree at National University and set up his own firm specializing in Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury law. James was a devoted community activist and member of the Kiwanis Club. He died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Candice; and his daughters, Janine Lee, Jodi Stanner, Annie Cooper, and Sarah Stanner-Cranston; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; his mother, Margaret; and his brothers, Jack, Jerry and Joel.
