Richard William Cahill was born in Austin, TX on January 9, 1941 and passed away peacefully October 27, 2017 at his home in Sachse, TX. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Loving Cahill and Jasper “Humpy” Cahill. He is survived by his wife Cynthia, son Rich Cahill and wife Ronisue of Rowlett, TX, daughter Chris Cahill and wife Gina Mayfield of Austin, TX, daughter Kimberly Fullwood and husband Chris of Coppell, TX, daughter Angela Osborn and husband Mark of Alba, TX and beloved grandchildren Kayla Osborn of Anaheim, CA, Daniel Osborn of Lubbock, TX, Elizabeth, Lauren and Caroline Fullwood of Coppell, TX,...

Richard William Cahill was born in Austin, TX on January 9, 1941 and passed away peacefully October 27, 2017 at his home in Sachse, TX.



Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Loving Cahill and Jasper “Humpy” Cahill.



He is survived by his wife Cynthia, son Rich Cahill and wife Ronisue of Rowlett, TX, daughter Chris Cahill and wife Gina Mayfield of Austin, TX, daughter Kimberly Fullwood and husband Chris of Coppell, TX, daughter Angela Osborn and husband Mark of Alba, TX and beloved grandchildren Kayla Osborn of Anaheim, CA, Daniel Osborn of Lubbock, TX, Elizabeth, Lauren and Caroline Fullwood of Coppell, TX, Chrissy and Chris Schmidt of Killeen, TX, Katlyn Cahill of Commerce, TX, Emily and RJ (Richard III) Cahill of Rowlett, TX, sister Sharon and husband Jim Carline of Cedar Park, TX and sister Beverly Weeks of Austin, TX as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.



Raised in Austin, TX Richard graduated from Travis High School in 1959. Immediately afterwards he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Richard graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1966 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He was very passionate about his Longhorns, bleeding burnt orange, and a diehard Cowboy fan.



Richard retired from M&M Mars in 1992 after 36 years of selling the BEST candy on earth. He ended this career as an ambassador for M&M Mars in Russia, introducing Western sales practices which included teaching the new Russian sales force how to smile.



Richard loved his family, his football and his tacos. He never met a stranger. Richard was fun loving and known far and wide as the “Candy Man”, spreading joy and chocolate everywhere he went.



Richard was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sachse. He loved his church family and always looked forward to the Monday morning breakfast with the guys.



A memorial service is to be held at First United Methodist Church of Sachse at High Noon on Friday, November 3, 2017, when we will celebrate his life. A taco reception will immediately follow.



In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.



Plans for a private internment ceremony are pending.
