Mark Rosengrant Obituary

Mark Richard Rosengrant 41, of Montrose, died unexpectedly at home on Aug. 11, 2014.
Born July 24, 1973, in Tunkhannock, he was the son of Richard and Diana Brogdon Rosengrant and Judith Cortright Bonavita, all of Tunkhannock.
Mark was a 1991 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School and served in the National Guard, 1991-1997. He was recently employed at the Carlton organic farm in Montrose and as a guitarist in the band, Solar Mining Company.
Preceding him in death were paternal grandfather Richard C. Rosengrant; maternal grandparents Dale and Barbara Cortright.
Surviving are brothers: Brandon and Bradley Bonavita of Auburn Center, and Jason Munley and wife Laura, of Tunkhannock. Survivng are sisters: Lisa Munley Orff and husband Thomas, Hazleton, Christine Munley Evans and husband David, Tunkhannock, and Shannon Munley, Philadelphia; and paternal grandmother Cora Wagner Rosengrant of Tunkhannock; and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Friday evening, Aug. 15, at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, conducted by family and friends.

Mark..I STILL can't believe you're no longer with us. I still vividly recall the 1st time we met in uniform and we hit it off instantly. The fact you could truly "SHRED"with a guitar in you hand made you the perfect fit of our jam band and by far the best guitarist we ever had. I can only imagine what could have been if life didn't get in the way.
I still often think of you my friend and wish you were still with us! You always be my friend & in my prayers.

Mark, it has taken me quite some time to write this... You and I were more than just brother and sister. Neither of us was born into this family and for years, we felt "different" because of it. What I have come to understand, after all these years away from home is this: We were both chosen, accepted and loved... I would give anything to KNOW that you knew that, felt that... Alex and Cage were so very fond of you, "Uncle" (as they called you). We love you, miss you and I promise to live each and every day focusing on what is good in this world. I was deeply saddened to hear about Mark. I have known him for about 7 years. During that time he helped me with the Montrose Theater, I bought his vegetables and he was my go-to guy whenever I had an electrical problem. He always did good work and then tried to undercharge me for it - I never let him get away with it. We always found time to talk about the farm, his music and life in general. He was a rare and wonderful human being. I shall miss him.
