Charles Burton Wall, 75, of Tunkhannock, died Sunday evening, Oct. 27, 2013, at home after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Zona) Wall.
Charlie was born in Dixon (Tunkhannock Twp.) on May 20, 1938, son of the late Burton and Mary (Smith) Wall.
He was a 1956 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School.
After school, he was employed in construction, and in the past 50 years with his wife Mary ran a Christmas tree farm on the back road to Lake Carey.
He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army
Charlie enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his long-time friend, Dick Vogrin. In later years, he enjoyed going to the races, cutting grass, trimming trees and gardening, as well as helping out wherever and whenever he could with the upkeep of the East Lemon United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Lillian (Wall) Thomas
In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his sister, Sally Wall of Vestal, N.Y.; and his favorite dog, Tessie.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Margaret M. McCarty, presiding.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
