Jennie Jenkins Bartron, 93, of Tunkhannock, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.
Born in Washington Township on July 3, 1920, she was the second of 10 children born to the late George and Stella Winnie Jenkins.
Jennie, with her husband, Stark, founded Bartron Supply in 1948. She was a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church, Tunkhannock Women's Club and Tyler Hospital Auxiliary.
Her greatest joy in life was to spend time with her family. She will always be remembered for her stories and recollections.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Stark Bartron in 1990; two sisters: Margaret Claypoole and Kate Monsey; and two brothers: James (Jim) Jenkins and Ken (Mick) Jenkins.
Jennie is survived by her children: Janice Gay of Henderson, Nev., Judy Bartron of Tunkhannock; and J. Stark and wife Jane Bartron II of Tunkhannock; grandchildren: Rick and Debbie Gay of Tunkhannock, Bryan and Lynda Gay of Las Vegas, Nev., Daniel Gay of Tunkhannock, Lisa Edwards of Baltimore, Md., Bekah and Ron Frisco of Falls, J. Stark Bartron III of Tunkhannock, and Josh and Amy Bartron of Tunkhannock; sisters: Hazel (Jeff) Martinson and Betty Monsey; brothers: Earl (Bud) and Jo Jenkins, Jack and Cathy Jenkins, Jerry and Carol Jenkins; and 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were be held Saturday morning, Feb. 8, from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Pastor Peter Geschwindner officiating.
