Ricky M. Smith

Ricky M. Smith, 58, of Meshoppen, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2014, at Tyler Memorial Hospital. His wife of 35 years, Brenda (Goble) Smith survives.
He was born in Binghamton, N.Y., to Sylvia A. Porter and the late Max E. Smith Jr.
He is also survived by his step-mother, Phyllis Smith, of Montrose; brother and sister-in-law Jeffrey R. Smith Sr. and Pat Smith, of Nicholson; aunts and uncles; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Ron and LouAnn Kiefer.
He was predeceased by his uncle and aunt, Ted and Lucille Daly, and his special dog, Dusty.
Ricky was a 1973 graduate of Montrose Area High School. Ricky owned and drove his own dump truck, though in the 1970s he drove for Louden Hill Farm, and at one time he hauled milk for Herbie Gleason.
He enjoyed collecting trucks and tractors; he loved his vacations he and his wife took to Florida during Christmas. The most important part of Ricky's life was the time he spent with his wife Brenda.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with Pastor Lori Robinson of the Dalton and Factoryville United Methodist Churches.
Interment was in the Rush Center Memorial Park, Rush Twp. Memorial contributions in Ricky's name can be made to the Montrose Minute Men, P.O. Box 461, Montrose, PA 18801.
