IRVING LOOMIS Obituary

Irving N. Loomis Jr., 81, of Montrose, passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009.
Born Nov. 14, 1927, in Sayre, he was the son of the late Irving N. Loomis, Sr. and Anna (Lott) Loomis.
Irving graduated from high school in Springville, in 1945 and served in the U.S Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Irving N. Loomis & Sons in partnership with his father Irving Sr. and brother Rolland until his retirement in 1994
He was a member of the Warren Lodge #240 F & AM, Montrose; Keystone Consistory; VFW Ayres-Stone Post #5642; the American Legion Gardner- Warner Post #154, Montrose; and the Camp Comfort Hunting Camp in Middletown.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Irving went on fishing and hunting trips around the world to Alaska, Mongolia, Canada and the continental United States with his brother Rolland.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jean Shaw Loomis of Montrose; son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Janet Loomis of Montrose; daughter and son-in-law Chrisann Loomis Rowe and Edward Rowe of Ashburn, Va.; five grandchildren: Tiffany, Krystle and Melanie Loomis, and Edward III and Jameson Rowe; and by brother, Rolland Loomis Sr. of Montrose, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Irving was predeceased by parents Irving N. Loomis, Sr. and Anna Loomis; by sister-in-law, Marion Loomis; and by brothers-in-law: Charles Shaw, Arthur Shaw and Luther Davis.
Services are at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801. The family will greet people after the services on Saturday. For directions, visit bartronmyerfuneralhome.com
