Alan K. Walker Sr., 67, of Tunkhannock, died Friday morning, March 14, 2014, at his home.
Born in Binghamton, N.Y., on January 5th 1947, he was the son of Betty J. Walker and the late Herbert L. Walker of Lexington, Ky.
He graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 1964. He is a Vietnam Veteran who served with the U.S. Army Transportation Battalion. Alan worked at Procter & Gamble in Mehoopany. He was a member of the Hallstead American Legion Post 357 and the V.F.W. He was an avid lover of NASCAR. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a member of the Lake Carey Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving, besides his mother, are two sons: Alan K. Walker Jr. and his wife Heather of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Matthew J. Walker and his wife Megan of Nicholson; a brother, Scott W. Walker of Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Darlene D. Dixon and her husband Larry of Richmond, Ky.; niece Callie L. Valle and nephew Dale W. Walker; grandchildren: Olivia, Madison, and Blake Walker.
A memorial luncheon will be held at noon at the Hallstead American Legion on Wednesday, March 19.
