Jessie Reppy Keker of Tunkhannock, and Naples, Fla., passed away at Physicians Regional Medical Center, Naples, Fla., after a 20 year struggle with multiple myeloma and its complications.

She was born Oct. 14, 1941, in Plymouth, daughter of Stacia and Stanley Reppy and is survived by her husband John Keker.
She graduated from Plymouth High School (1955), received a B.A. from Bloomsburg University (1959), an M.A. from Columbia University and Ph.D. from NYU. She taught at NYU, Brooklyn College, Staten Island Community College and at Kean University, (Union NJ) where she was director of the ESL program.
While living in Manila and Singapore, where her husband was employed, she worked in programs for refugees from Vietnam. She travelled to refugee camps in the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
She was a director of the Wyoming County Cultural Center, had been a director of NYS Tesol and NJ Tesol and was a co-author of textbooks in the ESL field.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to International House (NYC) or the Wyoming County Cultural Center, Tunkhannock.
At her request there are no public services. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
