Wesley E. Virtue, 83, entered eternal life, Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Glen Hill Nursing and Rehab Center in Danbury, Conn.

Wesley was born June 17, 1930, and grew up in South Portland, Maine.
From January 1951 to December 1953 he proudly served in Korea as a U.S. Marine.
On July 5, 1952, he married Barbara Ann Barnes. This past year Wesley and Barbara celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Wesley was employed by I.B.M. Corporation in 1954 and worked there until his retirement in 1986.
Mr. Virtue also served as both a Republican town councilman and town supervisor for the town of East Fishkill, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter Linda Nilsen; son-in-law Gerard Nilsen; a son, Todd Virtue; grandchildren: Brandon Virtue, Deanna Virtue, Stephanie Sierra, Andrea Nilsen, and Matthew Nilsen; greatgrandson, Elijah Sierra; and daughter–in-law Janet Virtue.
He was predeceased are a son Steve Virtue (on March 28, 2010), and a grandson Timothy Virtue (on April 29, 2013).
During his retirement, Wesley was an active member of American Legion Post 457, in Tunkhannock.
A memorial service will be held on Friday Oct. 18, at 3 p.m. from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 West Tioga Street, Tunkhannock.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
