Arlene Luce LaBar of Lakeville, Minn., formerly of Tunkhannock, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013.

Born on Nov. 12, 1919, in Jenks, she was the daughter of the late George D. and Ethel Harding Luce.
She was a 1936 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, and received her B.A. in 1940 from Bucknell University and in 1945 received her master's degree from Columbia University.
Arlene taught in high schools in Nicholson, Tunkhannock, Scarsdale, N.Y., Lower Merion and Somers, N.Y.
In 1963 her husband accepted a position in Norristown, so they moved there until she returned to Pennsylvania in 1966 and began teaching in Lower Merion High School in Ardmore. In 1969, she returned to New York where she taught at Somers Central Schools, Pace University and Iona College.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Renee LaBar.
Surviving is her son Craig of New Jersey; her daughter, Adrienne L Murawa of New Paltz, N.Y.; her daughter Renee and husband Derek DeRosia of Lakeville, Minn.; grandchildren: Monique LaBar, Joshua and Taryn DeRosia, and Shane, Dakota, and Hunter Murawa.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, from the Eaton Baptist Church with Pastor Kurt Bricker presiding. Interment will be in Perrins Marsh Cemetery.
