Betty J. Swingle, 75, of Center Moreland died Thursday, July 27, 2017. She is survived by her companion Phil Culver.

Betty was born on Sept. 30, 1941, daughter of the late George and Beva Chamberlin Baker.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 510 in Black Walnut.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Richard D. Spencer I and Fredrick R. Swingle Sr.; son Brian D. Spencer; and brothers: Robert, Gerald and Richard Baker.

She is survived by her sons: Richard D. Spencer II of Laceyville, Duane Spencer of LeRaysville, and Jerry Spencer of Binghamton, N.Y.; daughters: Cindy and Albert Hitchcock of Laceyville, Dawn and Jim Belcher of Stevensville, and Kelly and Tim Shoemaker of Shavertown; brother George Baker; sisters: MaryAnn Nye, and Yvonne Baker; seven stepchildren and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and her companion's family.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, July 31, from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Pastor Charles Bishop. Interment was in Lacey Street Cemetery Laceyville.
