Charlotte Puterbaugh, 87, of Tunkhannock, passed away on Monday. Jan. 13, 2014, at her home.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of Mary (Banks) and John Dumble.
Charlotte was a graduate of G.A.R. High School. She was a waitress at the Checkerboard Inn and the Castle Restaurants Inn. She was also a dance instructor for many years at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
In 1948, she married Robert C. Long and they had three sons: Robert (Robbie), Richard (Rick) and Roger. Later, she married Earl Puterbaugh and moved to Tunkhannock.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, her second husband in 2005, and her son Rick in 2000. Also, her brother John Dumble died in 2001.
She is survived by her sons: Robbie and wife Gail (Serfass), and Roger; her daughter-in-law Beth; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces.
Charlotte loved to entertain her friends and family. She was an excellent cook, and well remembered for her Manhattan Clam Chowder and her cheesecakes. She spent many hours sewing, gardening, and swimming in her pool.
Charlotte will be missed so much by her family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Rev. Peter F. Geschwindner of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church officiating.
