Delbert 'Del' R. Wootten Sr., 92, of Tunkhannock, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at Ann's Grove Personal Care Home, where he had been residing for the last three years.

Del was born on July 29, 1925, in Sugar Notch, the son of the late Roy J., who passed away in 1984 and Hulda Munson Wootten, who passed away in 1977.

He graduated from Sugar Notch High School with the Class of 1942. Del worked and owned a dairy farm. After working at the dairy farm he worked at Procter & Gamble from 1968 until his retirement in 1989.

Del loved baseball and was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. He really enjoyed farming and liked to hunt when he was younger. He loved to go to the Jersey Shore with his brother and loved to spend time with his family.

Surviving are his sons: Del R. Wootten Jr. of Florida, and John B. Wootten and his wife Pamela J. of Tunkhannock; grandchildren: Shirah Knight and her husband Russ of Arizona, Skye Wootten of Florida, Nicole Boling and her husband Dan of Virginia, Chelsea Saparito and her husband Michael of Bethlehem, and Matthew Wootten and his fiancé Cheyanna Kasmierski of Tunkhannock; and great-grandson Jacob Ocejo of Arizona.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother John Wootten, who passed away in 2007.

Abiding by Del's requests, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Union Hill Cemetery.
