Hazel L. Hooker, 83, of Springville, died Sunday morning June 8, 2014, at her residence.
She was born in a log cabin in Black Burn, Kent., on December 30, 1930, daughter of the late Homer and Martha Crowe Lakes.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, George E. Hooker, Sr.
Hazel was a loving wife mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, making crafts, quilts, dolls, watching the birds, listening to Johnny Cash and most of all traveling to Europe and all over the United States with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her son George E., Jr., and brother Ellis Lakes.
She is survived by sons Homer and companion Beth, of Auburn Twp.; Richard, of Frostproof, Fla.; daughters Rosana and husband Bill Stang, of Springville; Anita and Matt Kupchunas, of East Lemon; brothers Bob Lakes, of Fairfield, Ohio; Henry Lakes, of Springboro, Ohio; and sisters Frieda Holt, of London, Kent.; Shirley Brehm, of Fairfield, Ohio; grandchildren Will Stang, Lanell Stang Brennan, Matthew Kupchunas, Kelli Mackey, and great grandson Gabe Brennan.
