Jeffery Allen Brown, 49, of Meshoppen, died tragically on Jan. 28, 2018, in an automobile accident near Vernal, Utah. He moved out to Utah in the summer of 2014 and resided in Randlett Valley where he was able to pursue his passion for ranching while working on the Pumpkin Creek Ranch. While residing in Utah he was given the opportunity to work in North Dakota for the oilfield.

Jeff was born on June 28, 1968, and he attended Elk Lake School.

During most of his life he drove truck for various companies in Pennsylvania including S. McClain Stone and Bell Trucking where he teamed with his good friend Eric Stoothoff. He has worked on various local farms, was a mechanic for several companies, built houses for Borel Builders and had a personal auto detailing shop in Meshoppen. Jeff loved automobiles and was restoring a 1971 El Camino with his two sons Cody and Darren.

He enjoyed taking his children to the rodeo and truck shows as well as camping and trips on the tractor trailer. He enjoyed making his son's Halloween floats and had received first place for a tractor trailer float in the Meshoppen Halloween Parade. He enjoyed time spent with his daughter Brittany and was her biggest inspiration. Jeff also enjoyed detailing tractor trailers with his uncle Timmy Brown.

He loved hunting and had hunted wildlife while in Utah and made homemade jerky to send back home to his children. Jeff had moved out west in pursuit of a different life and had kept in contact with his children through letters and phone calls. He was an extraordinary man who will not be forgotten by many people who had come to know him.

His three children are Brittany Lynn Brown (and Johnathan Ronald Prevost), Cody Allen Brown, and Darren Jeffery Brown (and Amber Lynn Milliron) as well as two grandchildren: Jenna Lynn Brown and Erik Jeffery Brown. He is also survived by uncles: Alden, Timmy, and Denny; and aunts: Connie, Karen, Becky, Diane, Lauralee, and Marylou; among many cousins; sister Bridgette Ann Brown; nieces: Ashlie Louise, Aleece Bridgette, and Madison Erica; and nephew Nicholas Allen Floyd; great nieces: Justice, Destiny and GraceLynn; and great nephews: Nathaniel, Trityn and Jeremiah. He is also missed by his beloved dog, Leroy.

He is preceded in death by his father Gary Floyd Brown; and grandparents: Floyd Jr. and Doris Brown; and uncle Wilbert Brown.

A Celebration of Life service will be held March 3 at 6 p.m. at the Meshoppen Rod and Gun Club. In honor of Jeff's love for animals, anyone that wishes to make contributions may donate to True Friends Animal Welfare Center in Montrose.
