John H. Jones, 56, of Mehoopany passed away at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.
He was born in Keansburg, N.J., on Jan. 30, 1957, the son of John P. of Sugar Run and the late Florence Mills Jones.
He was married to Ruthann Mead for 26 years. He co-owned and operated J.J. Industries in Mehoopany, a company which sold commercial/industrial laundry equipment.
John was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He also played in the local dart leagues over the years for the Lovelton Hotel until 2005.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step son, Kory Glahn and step daughter-in-law Rachael of Tunkhannock; brother, Robert Jones and wife Silvana of Denver, Colo.; two nephews, Gabriel and Nicholas; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Evan and David.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Mar. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock.
Friends may pay their respects from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held private at the convenience of the family.
