Lester W. Valentine, 57, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Nicholson, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2014, at the age of 57.

He was born May 1, 1956, at Lourds Hospital, in Binghamton, N.Y., son of the late George E. and Beverly Valentine,
Lester's childhood years were spent in Nicholson. His later years were spent traveling and settling in New Mexico.
Lester loved his family and is survived by his beloved son Jeramia and wife Jenny Valentine of North Dakota; his treasured grandson, Jason Valentine of Colorado; three sisters: Nelda Emick and husband, Jerry of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Nadine Valentine of Lancaster, and Penny Fox and husband Michael of Ladson, South Carolina; a brother, George E. Valentine II and wife Lori of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
He attended Mountain View in Kingsley.
Lester proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1983 including a tour overseas.
Lester had a career he loved as a trucker driver across the United States.
Lester spent endless hours researching Valentine history as a hobby, and we would like to thank those at the Wyoming County Historical Society for their help and thoughts at this time, as well.
Lester found a passion in our area and its history, as well as our families. Those records are priceless to all survivors and friends.
Lester also loved cooking, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and just relaxing with his beloved dogs, who also traveled all over with him.
A memorial service will be held on June 16 at the Lackawanna State Park, 1839 Abington Rd, Dalton, PA 18414 in the Pine Pavilion, starting at 4 p.m.
