Patrick J. Waardenburg 43, of Forkston Twp., died Tuesday evening, Mar. 19, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Angie Krause Waardenburg.
He was born in Ridgewood, N.J., on Jan. 6, 1970, son of John Waardenburg, of Bradenton, Fla., and the late Linda Ross Waardenburg.
Pat was a 1988 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School. He was employed by The Masonic Village in Dallas. He was member of Temple Lodge No. 248 in Tunkhannock.
Pat was very passionate about music, playing, writing, and singing with local bands at many various venues. However, it was not uncommon for him to bring out his guitar and share at family and friends gatherings outside by the campfire. He had many different talents working with his hands such as woodworking, building a stonewall, making his famous BBQ ribs. You would also hear his stories about the outdoors, his hunting, fishing, canoeing, four wheeling, or his traveling with his wife Angie, or "Blondie" as he would call her, to the NASCAR races or just exploring many different states from coast to coast. One of Pat's favorite stops was Gettysburg to the civil war battlefield. He enjoyed the history of the battles and the sights. He was a loving, caring and helpful person that would be there when you needed him no matter what. He touched many people and will be deeply missed.
Patrick was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ted Waardenburg and Jack Ross; grandmother Ida Waardenburg; great grandmothers, Frances Anderson and Margaret Roberts; and by his cousin, Jamie Dickson.
He is survived by his stepmother, Nancy, of Bradenton, Fla.; son, Tice Patrick, of Tunkhannock; sister and brother in law, Wendy and Harold "Jr." Miller of Tunkhannock; grandmother, Joycelyn Ross; and nieces, Krystle and Makinsey Evans, Kennedy and Rosie Miller; and nephews, Ben and Jacob Spencer.
A memorial service was held on Mar. 23 at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 West Tioga Street, Tunkhannock with Pastor Lori Robinson. Interment at the convenience of the family.
