Ronald "Fox" Steele, 71, of Meshoppen, passed away, Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock.
Born Feb. 7, 1942, in Bridgewater Township, he was the son of the late Guy and Marion [Oakley] Steele.
Ronald served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964 during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Gardner-Warner American Legion Post #154, Montrose.
Fox enjoyed many things including, dancing, playing cards, gambling, and socializing with his friends at the American Legion and the Trail Inn. He loved his "Cat."
Survivors include his daughters: Delberta "Birdi" Steele of Carbondale, and Michelle "Mickey" Stewart of Conklin, N.Y.;, son and daughter-in-law, Kurt M. and Holly Steele of Springville; grandchildren: Kyla, Klay, Amanda, Cortney, C.J., Kurt Jr., Ashley, and Clifton; great grandchildren: Collin and Kayden; sister and brother-in-law, Linda & Danny Siracuse of Elk Lake; and he was predeceased by his daughter, Cora "Tilly" Steele; son, Clark Thomas Steele; granddaughter, Olivia Steele; and siblings: David and Judy.
Military honors will be held on April 27, 2014, at noon at the Fairdale Cemetery.
A luncheon will immediately follow at the Gardner-Warner American-Legion Post #154.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Gardner-Warner Post #154, 14515 SR 3001, Montrose, PA 18801.
