Shirley J. Dziak, 87, of Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at home. She was married to the late Eugene Dziak who passed away in 2009 and they were married for 55 years.

She was born in Scranton on July 8, 1930, and, she was the daughter of the late James and Sadie Neat Henry. Shirley was a member the Lake Winola United Methodist Church

She was a seamstress for many years, and she also was a house mother for 17 years at the St. Michael's School for Boys. She was a member of the Business Professional Women of Tunkhannock, volunteer of Lake Winola Ladies Auxiliary, trustee and former officer, volunteer of Tyler Hospital for more than 17 years where she received numerous recognition awards for service to the organization and patients. Shirley was a member of the Republican party, where she served as the committeewoman for Falls Township, where she served with her husband, grandson and granddaughter-in-law; she was on the Republican Executive Board for Wyoming County; and she was an invited guest at several Pennsylvania inaugurations and she was invited to attend Ronald Reagan's Presidential inauguration. Shirley received the Annis Tyler Public Service Award.

She is survived by a son, Gene and wife Gail of Falls; a brother-in-law Michael Jr. of Falls; and sister-in-law Mercedes Butrymowicz of Duryea; grandson Gene and his wife Becky and great-grand children MaKayla, Billy, Eddie, and Thea, all of Falls; grandson Michael and his wife Danielle of Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband Shirley is preceded in death by her siblings: Pearl Swinburne, Mildred Tomlin, Hanah Mae Kleha, Dorothy Duggan, Clarence Henry, Harold Henry, Sally Ayers, and Dolores Evans.

Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, 326 Maple Dr., Lake Winola, with Pastor Nick McMichael officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Winola Fire Company, P.O. Box 73, Lake Winola, PA 18625.
