Louise E. McGavin, 93, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at her residence in Lakeland, Fla.
Louise and her husband, Ed (who passed away on June 27, 2009) were long time residents of Auburn. They enjoyed their long life together with lots of traveling, parties, and wonderful long-lasting friendships.
Louise will be a sorely missed mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her daughter Eleanor Carter of Hillcrest, N.Y.; her granddaughter and husband Kelly and Dean Wurdelman of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; grandson and wife Jamie and Julie Carter of Greene, N.Y.; her great-grandchildren: Jesse Carter of Chenango Forks, N.Y., Patrick Dewing of Vestal, N.Y., Magan Wurdelman of Phoenix, Ariz., Cpl. Nikolas Wurdelman and wife Mel of Twenty-Nine Palms, Cali., Cpl. Cody Wurdelman of Okinawa, Japan, Miranda and Michaela Wurdelman of Sauk Rapids, Minn., Aiden Carter and Christian O'Neil of Greene, N.Y.; four great-great-grandchildren: Ryke and Raelynn Wurdelman of Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif., and Molly and Ahna Carter of Chenango Forks, N.Y.; her sisters-in-law: Catherine Williamson of Chalfonte, and Regina McGavin of Meshoppen; as well as many nieces and nephews; and very special friends: Russ and Dorothy MacLeod of Lakeland, Fla., and Brenda and Rick Smith of Meshoppen.
She was predeceased by her husband Ed; grandson Mark Carter; and son-in-law Tom Carter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Church in Meshoppen, with Fr. Joseph Manarchuck of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish officiating. Interment will be in the St. Bonaventure's Cemetery in Auburn.
Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, on Friday evening, Jan. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Friday evening, at the funeral home, at 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Endless Mountains Health Systems, 25 Grow Ave., Montrose, PA 18801-1106.
