Geraldine 'Gerry' V. Scranta, of Tunkhannock, died on Thursday evening, May 15, 2014, in the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock.

She was born in Eaton Township, Wyoming County, on October 25, 1936, daughter of the Charles and Pearle Mock, Kingston.
Gerry was a 1954 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and prior to her retirement she was employed by the Bendix Corporation in South Montrose.
Preceding her in death was her husband Theodore J. Scranta; son Theodore Scranta; and a brother Clifford Kingston.
Surviving is a son William Banks of Harrisburg; grandchildren: Theodore Scranta and Leisa Timm, both of West Virginia, and Clifford J. Scranta of Mehoopany; great grandchildren: Alyssa Harvey of Tunkhannock, Morgan Timm of West Virginia, Bret and Derek Scranta of Mehoopany, and Theodore III and Hayden Scranta of West Virginia; and a brother Kenneth Kingston of Tunkhannock.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, May 18, from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Deacon Ray Pieretti of the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock.
Interment in Eaton Brick Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
