Patricia Ann Crossman, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, formerly of Auburn Center, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Kootenai Medical Center after a courageous battle with the auto-immune disease, Dermatomyositis.
She was born in Elmira, New York, on Nov. 3, 1952, daughter of Beatrice Steafather Pangonis of Auburn Center and the late Joseph Pangonis.
She was a graduate of Elk Lake High School, class of 1970. She entered Western Kentucky University then later earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin in accounting.
On Nov. 22, 1980, Pat married Bob Crossman. They lived in Fargo, North Dakota, and Waukesha, Wisconsin, before going to the Coeur d'Alene area.
Pat was the driving force behind the Crossroads Dance Club and had a great impact om many lives through the years, having kindled the relationships of 18 couples who married after meeting at the Crossroads. Many will remember her cooking skills when she catered the many events through the years. Always a perfectionist, she never settled for "get it done."
She fought the disease for two years- living with a high pain level and decreased mobility. She was still concerned about others, rather than herself. Married 33 years, she was always worried about her "Bobby," and that she was a burden on him. While struggling to do the simplest tasks, ever strong, always searching for relief from the pain, she never gave up but the disease won.
Surviving in addition to her husband Bob, is a sister and brother-in-law Mary and Jerry Stroka of Tunkhannock; mother and father-in-law Orvin and Ada Larson; nieces and husbands: Jennifer and Jason Cobb, and Christine and Art Butler; nephew Tom and wife Kim Stroka; nephew Michael Stroka; stepdaughters: Naicia and her husband Steve Miner, and Michelle and her husband Eric Gehrke; granddaughters: Ambria, Anna, and Adaline Miner, Alyssa and her husband Colin Moulton; and great grandson Wesley.
