Kelly, Elois - Blackland  
BLACKLAND – Elois Rutherford Kelly, 88, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at her residence. She was born January 3, 1927, in Prentiss County to the late Tobe Leonard and Lillie Mae Christian Rutherford. She graduated from Wheeler School and Draughon's Business College in Memphis, Tenn. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Blackland Methodist and then a charter member of Christ United Methodist. She loved her church family and was a devout Sunday school teacher until her death. She married the love of her life, Robert W. Kelly on September 8, 1947. They had 52 years together until his death on April 1, 2000. Together they worked a farm, milked cows, always had a garden and raised eight children while working in local factories. She spent most of her working life at Prentiss Manufacturing Co. and some at Blue Bell. After retirement she then worked at Walmart in Booneville as a door greeter retiring again at age 79. She enjoyed gardening. cooking for her family, was an accomplished seamstress, and loved reading everything from her Bible to all types of fiction. Above all else, she was a strong Christian woman who lived what she believed. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 25, 2015, at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with the Rev. Walter Downs and the Rev. Jerry Kelly officiating. Special remarks will be given by Dalton Garner. Visitation was Friday, July 24, 2015, from 5 until 8 pm. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery. Survivors include four sons, Bob (Marilyn) of Booneville, Keith (Donna) of Rienzi, Greg of Tupelo and Joe of Booneville; three daughters, Elaine (Mike) Stevens of Booneville, Nancy (Tony) Harris of Corinth and Terry (Dale) Green of Bruce. She is survived by thirteen grand hildren, Karen Crawson, Robert Matthew Kelly, Amber Hare, Jennifer Herring, Brian Kelly, Laura Moore, Derek Stevern, Kelly Nichols, Ronny Walker, Breanna Hopkins, Emily Green, Tiffany Kelly and Stephen Kelly; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, James Leonard Rutherford of Baldwyn, Charles Edwin (Beverly) Rutherford of Baldwyn and Freddie Lynn (Linda) Rutherford of Booneville; two sisters, Barbara (Jerry) McCoy of Wheeler and Martha Sharon (Jerry) Benjamin of Rienzi as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Shirley Ann Hare; and two sisters, Doris Rutherford and Mildred L. Alexander. Pallbearers will be Derek Stevens, Robert Matthew Kelly, Brian Kelly, Ronny Walker, Stephen Kelly, Mike Crawson, Jeremy Herring, Dustin Moore, Jeremy Hare, Casey Hopkins and Will Kesterson. King, Betty - Booneville  
BOONEVILLE – Betty Jo King, 79, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born April 12, 1936, to James Walter and Leola Robinson Reese. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Fairview Ladies Prayer Group. She loved flowers. Services will be 2 p.m. today, July 25, 2015, at Booneville Funeral Home with Bro. Mark McCoy and Bro. Pete McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Boyce) McCalmon of Thrasher; two sons, Carlous (Nelda) King and Christopher (Louisa) King, both of Thrasher; one sister, Mary Turner of Corinth; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Curtis Franklin King; her parents; one sister, Vera Henderson; and an infant brother. FULTON – Lee Arthur Knight, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Courtyards Community Living Center. He was born February 11, 1933, to the late Abraham Lincoln Knight and the late Effie Greene Knight. He worked for various companies in Itawamba County. He was a Baptist in belief.
