RIPLEY – Charlie Murry King, 82, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Ripley. He was born Aug. 25, 1931, to Dave and Dessie Brock King in Tippah County. He had worked for Roy Elder House Moving, and he was a Baptist. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army
Services will be 4:30 p.m. today, April 22, at McBride Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Baker and Bro. William Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Ripley. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sisters, Martha Ray Carpenter of New Albany and Velma Barkley of Ripley; a special friend, Villa Null of Ripley; four stepdaughters, Shirley Bird of Tunica, Peggy Page, Sharon King (Ira) and Mona Gedde, all of Ripley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Margie James Fiveash King; his second wife, Lucy Nunnally King; two sisters, Alvertia Walker and Valerie Turner; and two brothers, Willie T. and J.D. King.
Pallbearers will be Rick Willingham, Josh Snider, Kerry Nance, David Nance, Michael Nance and Cory Rakestraw.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
