MARIETTA – William David ""Bud"" Hankins 77, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Tupelo. He was born November 20, 1936, to the late Elzie Hankins and Lavada Marcy Hankins. He was a retired employee of Pennyslvania Tire Co. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of Tombigbee Baptist Church. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Services will be Wednesday, July 9, at 2 p.m. at the Ozark Baptist Church with Bro. Dempsey Rowland and Bro. Ray Guin officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Tamera Hankins Brawley, Ozark; sisters, Burvil Thaxton, Mantachie, Sue Strickland, Arkansas, and Wilma McAnally, Tupelo; brother, John Hankins, Arkansas; grandaughters, Brittany Hankins and Kaylee Summers; great-grandchild, Makinley.
He was preceded in death by his parents;; son, William David Hankins Jr.; daughter, Deanna Hankins Summers; wives, Joyce Hankins and Helen Gardner Hankins.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Barnes, Thomas Guin, Terrell Strickland, Joe Strickland, Ray Butler and Danny Butler.
Visitation will be today from 6 until 9 p.m. at Ozark Baptist Church.
