I spent many enjoyable times with Tom when he was coach at Flaget and I was sports editor of the Chillicothe Gazette. Over the years, I've missed those times greatly. I've always considered him one of the classiest people I knew.

Tom was a tennis playing friend of mine when I was a kid back at the Fiberglass Tennis courts - I remember one day he and I were the only ones to show up at the courts and he had no choice but to play against me or no one else; so we played and I somehow won; he was so competitive he got mad and said he was never going to play again...well, he played again and our friendship went on for years. He'll be missed in all regards. Never saw a person who took better care of himself than Tom. Our thoughts to Tom and his family.

Tom was a great friend and good man. I have wonderful memories of working with him at Meadowbrook High School. There are few men that have had such impeccable character and accomplishments in their lives. Tom was a quiet, dignified man who was an example to hundreds of athletes on how to live their lives. Many of those athletes mark him as a pivotal mentor in their lives. Rest in peace, Tom, you are with the Lord now.
