Patricia M. Nichols

NEWARK: A service celebrating the life of Patricia M. Nichols, age 52, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at First Baptist Church of Heath, 525 South 30th Street, with Pastor Rob Hare officiating.

Patricia passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio) and was born October 23, 1960 in Newark.

Patricia was a 1979 graduate of Newark High School. She met her husband, Kenneth, during high school in the 10th grade and spent over 36 years with him. They were married for 25 years. Following graduation Patricia went to work for the Licking County Engineers office and retired from there after nearly 34 years of service. She was a dedicated fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Newark High School Football. She will always be remembered as the cow bell ringer at the high school football games. Patricia enjoyed her beagles as she and her husband were beagle rescuers. Patricia had a passion for helping others as she was training for the 911 call center. She enjoyed the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Heath.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Nichols; mother, Ella May (Amos) Canale; two brothers, Michael (Kelly) Canale and Steven E. Canale; a nephew, Nick Canale all of Newark and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Canale.

Friends may call Monday, June 17, from 4-7 p.m. at the church.

The Newark Chapel of the Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Kenny,
Although we have never met, I am so sorry for Pat's passing. She was such a unique person, fun and told it like it was!! She would come in to Carpenter Oil Co. where I worked and she was like our afternoon entertainment sharing about sports, Coach Starr, and ringing the cow bell.
Love and prayers as your heart is healing.
