Rev. Seth W. Oiler NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Rev. Seth W. Oiler, age 42, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Steve Rath and Pastor Bill Lyle officiating. Rev. Oiler passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2015. He was born July 19, 1972 in Gallipolis, Ohio. Seth was an Ordained Elder in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church and was fully ordained in 2014. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, member of Newark Rotary and former IT professional. He served as pastor at Ware's Chapel United Methodist Church in West Manchester (2009), Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington (2011) and First United Methodist Church in Newark (2013). Seth loved God, Ronald Reagan and Captain America. He adored all things Star Wars and being in the water surrounded by nature. Seth was accomplished in music and voice and enjoyed playing the piano. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Brothers) Oiler; their three children, Isabelle Oiler, Abigail Evans and Noah Oiler; his parents, Diane and David Miller of Jamestown and Jim and Maggie Oiler of Rio Grande; a step-sister, Amy (Jason) Thatcher of Delaware; and first wife, Christine Klump. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 26, at The Heath Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath. Burial will take place at Ware's Chapel United Methodist Church in West Manchester on Thursday, May 28 at 11 a.m. where military honors will be observed. Allan R. Osborne MARYSVILLE: Allan R. Osborne, age 68, of Marysville, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. He worked in the Silicon Valley computer industry for 16 years and retired on January 1, 2000 from Sun Microsystems in San Jose, California. A 1965 graduate of Licking Valley High School, he received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1979 from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Lockbourne AFB in Columbus, Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas and Upper Heyford, England. He enjoyed golfing, collecting classic cars, and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State University Buckeyes fan. He was born May 18, 1947 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Rev. Emmett and Joanna Torbert Osborne and was also preceded in death in 1980 by a son, Jeffrey Dale Osborne. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue Ellen Morrison Osborne, whom he married January 28, 1968 in Belpre, Ohio; a son, Scott Osborne of Hawley, Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Katelyn Osborne; a grandson, Chase Osborne; three sisters, Susan (Tom) Hamm of Dublin, Ohio, Dianna (Dave) Snedeker of Barlow, Ohio and Cathy Allen of Norwood, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Thomas (Pat) Morrison of Dayton, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Dale) Leachman of Ostrander, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Linworth United Methodist Church, 7070 Bent Tree Blvd, Columbus. Rev. Rae Lynn Schief will officiate. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Dresden Cemetery in Muskingham County. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com
