HEATH: A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date for Betty Giles, age 78, of Heath.
Betty was born in Richwood, WV on November 20, 1935 to the late Sheldon and Muzetta Graves. She passed away at Arlington Care Center on February 2, 2014.
Prior to retirement, Betty worked for Arro Department Store and Value City in Heath for over 30 years.
Betty enjoyed playing the trumpet in the band during her high school years. She also enjoyed making ceramics, listening to music, gardening, and flowers, but most important in her life was spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking for the special gatherings during the holiday season.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Zane Giles; daughters, Shelly (Steve) McKinney of Heath and Cynthia (Tim) Corder of Newark; grandchildren, Courtney (Chandler) Capers, Dustin Dillman, Zachary (Sarah) McKinney, and Kiley Smith; step grandchildren, Brice Corder and Brooke (D.D.S. Matt) Hiener; great grandchildren, Ava, Dane, Prestin and Zoey; and her family pet, Bitsey.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Bill Graves.
