Betty Walker Manley
LEXINGTON: Betty Walker Manley, age 85, of Lexington passed away late Wednesday evening, March 6, 2013 at Lexington Court Care Center. She was born September 14, 1927 in Martinsburg, Ohio to the late Forest William and Twila Marie (Jones) Frye.
She retired from Heritage Trails Girl Scout Council. Betty was an active member of McElroy Church of Christ. Betty loved the Lord and was an excellent homemaker. Her family and friends were very important in her life. Betty always wore a smile and possessed a very giving nature.
She is survived by a son, Gary (Patricia) Walker of Mansfield; daughters, Diane Perkins and Debbie (Greg) Grewe; stepson, Terry (Sharon) Manley; a step daughter-in-law, Judy Manley; one brother, Ron (Sue) Frye; one sister, Ina Ellen Nethers; a sister-in-law, Shirley Frye; fourteen grandchildren including several step grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren including several step great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Walker; second husband, George H. Manley; two brothers, Melvin and Richard Frye; and a stepson, Larry Manley.
A funeral service conducted by Rev. Ray Linn will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Friends and family may visit beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to McElroy Rd. Church of Christ, 297 N. McElroy Rd., Mansfield, OH 44905.
