Cloetta Irene Clark Lockwood
NEWARK: A memorial service for Cloetta Irene Clark Lockwood, 84, of Newark will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Second Presbyterian Church, 42 E. Church St., Newark, with Rev. Charles C. Smith III presiding. Flowers for the service can be sent to Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, Ohio 43055 or donations in lieu of flowers can be given in memory of Cloetta Irene Clark Lockwood to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055 or to the Memorial Fund of Second Presbyterian Church, Newark, OH. A private inurnment will take place at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Cloetta was born March 4, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to parents, Clarence Earl Clark and Augusta Ingram Clark. The youngest of three children, she graduated from West High School in 1947 and attended The Ohio State University
. She had a deep passion for music, took extensive voice lessons and enjoyed collecting music boxes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul A. Lockwood, who died in 2007, her parents, sister Delores Louise Clark Harrison and brother, Robert Earl Clark. Cloetta is survived by daughter Pamela A. (Ole) Bay of Newark, OH and son, Scott P. (Linda) Lockwood of Johnstown, OH; by grandchildren Amber A. Bay of Newark, OH, Travis A. (Anne) Bay of Gahanna, OH, Christina (Tom) Lockwood Jackson of Friendswood, TX, Craig D. Lockwood of Gahanna, OH and by great-granddaughters, Emily, Sarah and Madelyn Jackson all of Friendswood, TX, brother-in-law, David (Jeanne) Lockwood, California, sister-in-law, Jean (Jim) Milton, Washington, and many nieces and nephews.
As member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Newark, OH she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a past president and is an honorary member of Unity Reading Circle. Cloetta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be fondly remembered.
