HEATH: A funeral service for Dorothy Jane York, 81, of Heath, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. York, a homemaker, passed away May 8, 2013, at her residence. She was born September 9, 1931, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Alfred and Dorothy (Finley) Phenis.

Mrs. York retired from Ames Department Store. She attended Newark Heights Church of God. She enjoyed working in the yard, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Randy (Debbie) York and Jamie (Brenda) York both of Heath; daughters, Roxann (Ron) Baker and Cheryl (Bob) Baker both of Heath; brother, Alfred (Jen) Phenis of Richmond, Indiana; sister, Jean Hobbs of Placentia, California; sister-in-law, Argalee Phenis of Richmond, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd R. York; two sisters, Joyce Catanese and Joan Hobbs, and one brother, James Phenis.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
