Dorothy Mae Callihan
NEWARK: Funeral services for Dorothy M. Callihan, 83, of Newark will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, with Rev. Rick Ritamna officiating. Interment will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Dorothy died at Autumn Health Care Center on Thursday, February 16, 2012. She was born in New Albany, Ohio on December 11, 1928 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Albert Laubenschiemer.
Dorothy had worked as a laborer at Johnstown Straw Factory and as a typist at Copco Papers. She was an avid bowler with the Newark-Granville Ladies Bowling League, and enjoyed sewing and gardening, especially her rosebushes.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Ann Haughn of Norwalk, her grandchildren; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd Bernard and Shirley Callihan of Manassas, Virginia, and Helen Loretta Clannin of Columbus; and longtime family friends Larry and Betty Lou Iden, and Gary and Duanna Luttman, all of Newark.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Callihan just two weeks ago; and her son, Richard Melvin McLaughlin.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
