E. Pearl Hurley
HEATH: A funeral service for E. Pearl Hurley, 92, of Heath will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.
Pearl passed away on November 15, 2012 at Heath Nursing Home. She was born on April 21, 1920 to the late B. Franklin and Alice H. (Harris) Scott in Petersburg, PA.
She is survived by her son, Daniel R. (Chris) Hurley of Gahanna, OH; daughters, Hazel (Wilk) Johns of Huntingdon, PA, Peggy (James) Curtis of Hillsboro, OH and Donna Cunningham of Newark, OH; eight grandchildren, Rob (Cheryl) Johns, Rodney (Julie) Johns, Tim (Patti) Johns, Pamela (Jeff) Moore, Jeffrey (Kim) Curtis, Jared Cunningham, Sarah (Josiah) Royse and Josh (Susan) Hurley; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, William (Irene) Scott of McConnellstown, PA and Roy (Evelyn) Scott of Marklesburg, PA.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond E. Hurley; grandson, Jason Cunningham; brother, Paul Scott and sister, M. Viola Frye.
Pearl was a 50-year member of the Heath United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Group, Heath Garden Club, Neighborhood Card Club and Owens Corning Retirees. She worked briefly for Owens Corning Fiberglass during WWII and was an Avon representative. The majority of her life was devoted to her family.
She enjoyed her family- children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren and was said to be "the Best Mom God put on this Earth".
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Heath United Methodist Church, 1149 Hebron Rd., Heath, OH, 43056.
