Edna A. Patton
NEWARK: Services for Edna A. Patton will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark with Pastor Jeff Gill presiding. A private interment will take place Monday at Newark Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives one (1) hour prior to the service on Sunday.
Mrs. Patton, age 98, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Kindred Health Care. She was born February 3, 1915 in Monroe County, Ohio to the Fred and Nancy (Parks) Rose. Edna lived in the Newark area since 1939 and for many years was an active member of her church and the community. She was a member of Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and belonged to its Miriam Circle. She was also a member of Newark Grange, Farm Bureau Council #17 and the Land of Legend Travel Club. She graduated from the Cameo Beauty School, Zanesville and owned and operated Edna's Beauty Shop for over 26 years.
Mrs. Patton is survived by her daughter Natalie Ann (Rev. David) Garshaw of Bloomington, IN.; grandchildren Holly (Travis) DeVault, Sarah (Larry) Rockwell and Jay Garshaw; great granddaughters Adrienne DeVault and Monica Rockwell; great grandsons Jackson DeVault and Derek Rockwell; step grandchildren Austin Ray, Brent Allan, Nathan James and Nicholas Andrew Rockwell as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, husband Gerald Patton; sister Oneda Schneeberger; brothers Fred Rose, David, Rose and Woodrow Rose preceded Edna in death.
Memorial gifts, in Edna's name, may be given to Hospice of Central Ohio or to Central Christian Church.
