ANDERSON, SC: Esther "Eileen" Showers Larason, aged 96 years, devoted wife and beloved mother, passed away peacefully at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC on Friday morning, May 3, 2013.

The daughter of Edward and Norma Seyerle Showers, she was born December 14, 1916 in Columbus, OH. She was married to Donald Lawrence Larason on January 28, 1943 in Philo, OH. They lived in Tucson, AZ and Great Bend, KS during World War II, and then settled in Newark, OH.

Eileen graduated from Philo High School in Philo, OH in 1935. She was a member of the Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church for 62 years and was a hairdresser for almost 50 years. She operated Eileen's Beauty Shop on Neal Avenue in Newark for approximately 20 years.

Eileen is survived by two sons, Jerry L. and wife Louise W. of Anderson, SC, and Ronald E. of Palm Desert, CA; two grandchildren including Martha Lauer and husband Aaron E. of Morrisville, NC, and Miles Edward Larason of Florence, SC; three great-grandchildren including Winslow Harrison Hobbs and Penelope Martha Louise Hobbs of Morrisville, NC, and Katie Grace Larason of Anderson, SC.; she is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Larason was preceded in death by Donald, her husband of 62 years; and by her brothers, Herman, Harold, and Wendell Showers.

She moved to Anderson, SC in November, 2005.

Services will be held this summer in Newark, OH with burial following in Duncan Falls, OH; date to be announced.
