NEWARK: An informal Celebration of Life service for Emajean E. Baker, 84, of Newark will be held at 2PM on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH with Pastor Bruce Weaver officiating. Private burial will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker passed away on November 27, 2013 at the Selma Markowitz Center. She was born on June 10, 1929 to the late Austin and Mamie (Cook) Kasson in Newark, OH.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Ellen "Sis") Baker; three grandchildren, Denton (Tawshia), Shannon, and Josh (Stephanie) and great-grandson, Ethan.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Baker; and brother, Austin William Kasson.

Mrs. Baker retired from Licking Memorial Hospital in 1992. She attended the Heath Church of Christ and Newark Church of the Nazarene. She hosted a Bible Study attended by the Silver Foxes. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Garden Club and Bridge Club. She enjoyed reading and was a longtime fan of Denison University and Ohio State University.
