Harold L Shields, Jr.
HEATH: A funeral service for Harold L. Shields, Jr., 84, of Heath, will be held at 1PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in the Fireside Room of the Heath Church of Christ, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5PM, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street in Newark. Calling will also be observed from noon until service time at the church.
Mr. Shields passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012. He was born March 6, 1928, in Newark, a son of the late Harold L. and Pearl (Denzer) Shields, Sr. He was an Army
veteran of WWII
and was stationed in Korea at the outbreak of the Korean Conflict
. Mr. Shields retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas where he had worked as a machinist. He was a member of the Heath Church of Christ; the Machinists Union and enjoyed wood working.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Lloyd) Shields, whom he married August 14, 1955; a daughter, Kathryn J. Shields of Heath; a son, David L. Shields of Hopewell; a nephew, Harold Frazier; three nieces, Joyce Thompson, Barbara Sullivan and Kayanne Baker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Wise, Harriette Fraizer and Betty Cass Peyton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heath Church of Christ or Hospice of Central Ohio; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
