Jay P. Morris
GRANVILLE: A funeral service for Jay P. Morris will be held at 7pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Bret Rizzo officiating. Friends and family may call from 4pm until the time of the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street in Newark.
Jay age 48, of Granville, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born April 9, 1966, in Houston, Texas, a son of the late Harold Waag Morris and Patricia Romick who survives, of Houston Texas.
A kind and intelligent man with a sharp wit, Jay's prime passion was his family; therefore he enjoyed doing activities that were family centered.
Educated to be a graphic designer, he held a number of jobs over his lifetime. He graduated from Bexley High School and obtained a degree in Graphic Design from Columbus State. Recently he was associated with the transportation departments at Granville and Southwest Licking Schools Districts. He loved being outdoors, camping with his family and driving his motorcycle. He was a great cook and loved animals, taking in many stray pets over the years.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife, Jennifer (Leffler) Morris, whom he married August 28, 1994; his beloved daughters, Paige Nicole Morris and Mya Elizabeth Morris; a brother Bradley (Pam) Morris of Fairbanks, Alaska; his father and mother-in-law Richard and Mary Leffler of Granville; a brother-in-law Allen (Lisa) Leffler of Cincinnati; two sisters in law Amy (Stephen) Rodriguez and Shannon Willis both of Pataskala and many nieces and nephews.
Jay's family maintained his legacy in life at his passing by being an organ and tissue donor.
